My Friend, the Sea Life Conservationist
January 26th, 2012My friend is a conservationist. His area of focus is the ocean and the preservation of sea life. He told me that the oceans are getting more and more polluted, and the life of seabirds are being threatened. For instance, he said the many species of the albatross are heading toward extinction. Plastics found in the ocean are deadly to these birds, and the mortality rate is directly influenced by the increase in polluted waters. He is involved with several conservation groups which are trying to preserve the breeding grounds of the seabirds. He also tries to extend this education to the schools whenever he can. He is frequently invited by schools to speak to the children. He is also a contributing writer to several magazines. He finds his profession very rewarding, particularly when he meets people from other countries who share in his common goal. He feels that when countries cooperate to solve a problem, a lot can be achieved.
